4.7GB for a 2-hour DVD is a little over 650kB/sec. 3DES at this
rate is *easy* in hardware these days. With a 650kB/sec data
stream and allowing only one DES round per cycle it works out to
about a 32MHz clock. Ten times that should be a piece of cake even
on an outdated fab. IIRC a single round of DES hardware is about
5-6K gates, so it's a small corner of a chip so multiple rounds per
clock are possible, as well.
