Jim Thompson is merely very good at what he does - there have been some
spectacularly good people in his field, and he really isn't in the same
league as Bob Widlar or Barry Gilbert.

Are you sure that Phil Alliosn is a conventional carbon-based life
form? His web presence suggests something closer to anhydrous sulphuric
acid and silicon carbide.
