There is a lot here. Lets go through it point by point.
Frist isn't stupid. He is a surgeon, and should have known better. He letWhat is your estimation of the emotional IQ of the Republicans who 'went
to the defense' of Terry Shiavo?
Why bother with the "emotional" adjective?
his fear of the religious right and Tom DeLay override his real
intelligence. He is also creep.
I'm a Republican because we aren't afraid to fight wars, and theydon't
take my money.
They don't take YOUR money, because you are 'their base'. Unfortunately,
you miss the important point that in taking money from the poor, they
destabilize the situation. Also, by not taking money from you, they ensure
that your kids and grandkids will be paying for their profligate spending,
as will mine. They are like college kids with their first credit card;
they use it to get what they want, without a thought to the later cost.
College kids use it to have fun. Republicans use it to buy and consolidate
power (just like the Democrats did when they were in office).
Personally I'm for free choice, life, death, assisted suicide and
abortion.
Good for you. You are a minority in your own party.
But don't take my hard-earned money to give to ne'er-do-wells.
Your money that you earn sitting in front of a computer all day? What
about those ne'er do wells that work two jobs, probably cleaning your
house for you? What about the ne'er do wells that work in the grocery
stores, deliver your packages, clean up after you when you are in the
hospital, or trim your trees? The ones that flip your burgers? Why should
they, who frankly work far harder than you do, have a far worse life
than you?
How about the ethical IQ of the
Republicans who took money from that sleezebag Abramoff and his friends,
and proceeded to let them write legislation and add clauses into random
bills that would benefit their clients at our expense?
ALL politicians are crooks. Democrats included. They took money from
Abramoff or from Abramoff go betweens (aka indian tribes), yet deny deny
deny.
No, they didn't.
How about Air America funded by moneys stolen from the Boys and Girls
Club of NY?
Sure, I believe that... NOT.
How about
the interpersonal IQ of the fools who got us into Iraq based on the
self-serving lies of that sleazy Ahmed Chalabi?
I don't think that's how we got there.
Then you are wrong too. Ahmed Chalabi convinced Wolfowitz and the idiots
at "Project for a New American Century". that
1) Saddam was building WMD
2) That we would be greeted with open arms by the Iraqis.
3) That he could control the Shiites.
That is why we are there: the dimwits thought it would be a cake walk, and
that we could intimidate Iran by kicking Saddam's *** when they couldn't
do it. Didn't work out that way, eh?
Now, these guys aren't raving lunatics, like the guys who put up that
silly site above. However, the raving lunatics aren't running the
country. Sadly, republicans with low emotional, ethical, and
interpersonal IQs seem to be...
You'd rather that Democrats "with low emotional, ethical, and
interpersonal IQs" were ?:-)
Frankly, I can't see the democrats falling into the traps I mentioned. I
see them being pork-loving skimmers. I don't see them writing additions to
bills at the 11th hour, or getting scammed by Chalabi, or trying to
diagnose Terri Shiavo over the phone. They have their problems, of course.
Put bluntly, they were in power too long, got soft and used to the free
pork lunches. Newt and his evil minions ate their lunch, and they still
haven't recovered.
And GOD DAMN IT, why the HELL can't they at least act competently with
regards to protecting our troops from IEDs? They seem to talk about
supporting the troops at every chance they get. Why do soldiers need to
buy their OWN BODY ARMOR?
I think that's been shown to be a leftist exaggeration.
Shown by whom? Why do you continue to listen to Rush Limbaugh? Don't you
know any better? That guy is LYING to you...
Though I can remember having to send a side-arm to an uncle serving in
Korea.
Why the HELL can't they at least get a few stinking details right while
they loot the treasury,
How are they doing that?
By cutting taxes during a (useless, mismanaged, wrongheaded, stupid
blunder of a) war. By letting their buddies at Martin Marietta or Lockheed
or Boeing write the defense appropriations bills. By pissing off one of
the world's major sources of oil so their friends who own oil wells can
sell the oil for more money. By running up the deficit to record levels,
while not collecting corporate taxes, or auditing the rich (the poor get
audited far more often on a *per capita* basis!) By writing legislation
into the budget to relax environmental restrictions, which forms yet
another kind of 'deficit', which we can't even guess the cost of.
listen to our
phone calls,
What? YOUR representative is ignoring you?
pack the courts,
What a pile of BS. I may be wrong, but I believe that Clinton appointed
more judges than "W" has.
More Rush Limbaugh. You really need to get a few other news sources. Bush
has appointed over 200 judges who have been confirmed by the senate. This
is a larger 'per term' average than clinton, his poppy, or reagan. Also,
the appointees are generally much farther out of touch with mainstream
interests that was true of any of his predecessors. Even so, the senate
blocked over 60 of clinton's appointments. This compares to the 26 of
Bush's appointments who have been blocked by the senate. So, the whole
'democrats trying to stonewall appointments' thing is nonsense. They only
objected to the real kooks.
and destroy all environmental law for their lobbyist friends?
Which law would that be?
EPA rolling back emission standards for coal-burning power plants. The
'Clear Skies' initiative pegs CO2 emissions to to the growth of the
national economy, thus allowing far more emissions than prior law. The
administration lowered standards for arsenic in water, the controls of
toxic chemicals, and has opened up fragile wetlands to development. It has
redirected 'superfund' funds, and decreased corporate responsibility for
environmental disasters they cause, thus allowing them to pollute at the
public's expense.
The EPA has manhandled the results of long term environmental studies,
changing the results to suit their corporate client's whims.
EPA officials routinely hack the law in favor of corporations, and then
magically get jobs with those corporations weeks after these laws take
effect. (Google for John Pemberton). A timber lobbyist runs the Forest
Service. A Mining company lobbyist is deputy secretary of the interior.
EPA officials brazenly take dictation from the major polluters and then
cash in as high paid consultants.
They don't even try to hide this anymore. I guess they figure all the news
is about Iraq, and they can do what they please domestically.
