The US govt's motives are completely transparent, even they understand that
and are only making a half-hearted effort to give other 'valid' reasons for
their actions. The WMD reasoning for Iraq had me in fits - we all knew they
would never find anything, it was so obviously a smokescreen. The reasoning
for invading Iran will be just as pissweak - the majority of Americans will
eat it up (I say majority because you guys keep voting this clown in) and
the rest of the world will sigh.

All this fear-mongering and paranoia feeds off the American propensity to
tar everyone with the same brush. You see one nutjob Islamic fundamentalist
on TV and suddenly all 'towel-heads' are the same. Most muslims are very
nice people. Hey, I saw a nutjob mormon once - now I want to bomb Utah!

If America stopped invading other countries, stopped getting involved in
stuff that is none of their business, stopped supporting crackpot
dictators, stopped supplying arms to the enemies of their enemies, and
stopped acting like a bunch of complete wanks, then maybe things would calm
down.

Well put; you're absolutely right, in that everything you've said is true,
but you kinda spoil it with all those "if"s. If a frog had a square ass,
he'd shit bricks.
