and leave Europe to Islam ;-)

Hardly.... Islam is the fastest growing religion in the USA!!!!

In Europe most countries are sectarian and not religious.

I presume you mean secular rather than sectarian? If so, I'm tempted to
say
"amen" to that ;).

The US vs Iraq conflict has been described (by wiser men than I) as a
conflict between fundamentalist religious cultures. We're back in the
Dark
Ages, folks.

I read somewhere that in US society, the new baddie is no longer the red
under the bed, or the hippie, or the negro. It's the atheist.

That makes me a raging baddie, then - wahay!

So I'm a "raging baddie" also. But I do resent this leftist weenie

Why is everything "leftist" I disagree with your next line but I am
somewhat right wing.

craze to take away all tradition in the US... can't say "Merry
Christmas" in schools anymore :-(

Mainly because of the several religious festivals at the end of December
the Christian one is the most recent and takes things from many of the
others. Most of the things that make Christmas the festival you know are
not Christian or from the festival you think it is.

This got argued out in another NG recently. I don't mind Christians
wishing each other a Happy Christmas but don't force it on the rest of
us.

I generally accept well wishes of any kind. Personally i celebrate
Saturnalia about that time though.

I like the Hindu take on it: "Oh, we just celebrate along with whoever's
having a party at the time." ;-)

Cheers!
