the US business culture at the time. In 1945 US culture was
hard-working people and entrepreneurs working themselves up from the
bottom; In 2002's culture a bunch of cronies already on the top use
their position to loot everything they can and everybody else will
never make it!



Crazy. Germany had a modern (but bashed) economy, a very law-abiding
citizenry, a single language and culture, a Western tradition of
learning and hard work, was saturated with troops from a half-dozen
countries, and didn't have multiple neighboring countries actively
funding terrorism and chaos.

The way the Nordic business culture is actually "behind the US" is in
creativity and productivity. If they like it that way, fine, but the
structure may well not be sustainable.
