What if there are other people in it? Employees? (Do you believe
in workplace safety regulations?) Children?

What about choice? You can refuse to patronize a place that allows
smoking.

Why should I limit the public places I go when it's the smokers who
are polluting the air and creating a health and fire hazard for
everyone,customers and employees?

Why should you tell me what to do in my home? You can go there, or
not.

As long as "your home" does not share common walls or roof with mine,I
would not tell you what to do.

As long as it's *MY* home, you can just poke your nose somewhere else.

We're eliminating the problem, not compensating for it.

No you aren't. These are *private* establishments.

If they are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC,they are not truly "private".

They are *NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC*. Sheesh, do you know what a PRIVATE
CLUB IS?

They must meet health regs, safety and fire regs. Smoking falls under
health and fire regs.

Next you're going to tell them to stop selling peanuts because some are
allergic to them. If you don't like it, go away.

Some are even
private clubs. Who says that you are even welcome?

No answer?

I'm not a smoker, but I find it as offensive as smoke for the
government to tell a business how it does business. I find it
particularly abhorent for government to tell private clubs what they
can or cannot do.

Private clubs should be left alone.

They aren't. Your kind dosn't give them any break (employees and all
that crap).

Employees deserve clean air to breathe while the work;workplace safety
laws. If you run the business yourself, then you have no employees and
you can do as you wish.

Work elsewhere. Do note that they have a smoking room for employees.

TRULY private clubs, not those open to the public.

That just shows how little you know about the issue.

As I've said, repeatedly, I have no problem with people who don't
like smoke, or who don't like smoking

On the contrary, you've been saying the exact opposite of that,
repeatedly.

He has, but understand the other side. Does your right to not smoke
trump the idiot Rich's right to?

The right to breathe clean air does trump his right to smoke.

No, there is no right intrinsic right to not be offended.

"Breathe" does not equal "offended".

One can breathe smoke. It is exactly an issue of being _offended_. It is
a control issue.

I also should have said "clean,SAFE air" to breathe.

There is no evidence that second hand smoke is particularly dangerous.
Perhaps you should be allowed to drive either. It's just not safe.

Please be
elsewhere if you don't like smoke.

Please be elsewhere if you must smoke.

YOU are the one -causing- the foul air.

You don't read very well do you?
