Plus most colleges have face-to-face interviews...
Most? Not even close. If 10% of colleges/universities in the United States
do face to face interviews I would be amazed.
I was talking of the "real" ones... you know... the private schools
that don't have to admit the chaff ;-)
Ah yes... the ones where you pay extra for the same education so you can
avoid the teeming masses.
Are you one of "those" who thinks that ASU == MIT ??
Are you one of those that thinks Brown or Cornell (do interviews) ==
Michigan or UIUC (don't do interviews) in engineering?
I was responding to the "teeming masses" comment.
So apparently they don't teach a sense of humor at MIT...
When it comes to engineering departments I'll take the schools that don't
interview over those that do...
Each to his own ;-)
But quality can found in unusual place... Michigan is generally rated
right up there with MIT, also Harvey Mudd, and Rose-Hulman.
I think if you compare the top 30 engineering schools that do interviews
versus the top 30 engineering schools that don't you'll find better
engineering schools among those that don't interview. Narrow that number to
top 5 or so and it might swing the other way.
