What the hell do i do to fix this crap?

You sit and wait "forever" for the highlighted message to appear. All it
means is that your NNTP server is swamped, and has to catch up. Clicking
on more message headers just shoves them into the queue, further jamming
traffic. If you're really bored and need to read something, click on a
previous message, that's been cached, just to make sure your system
isno't locked, then try the problem one again, and while waiting, you
might try shaking it loose by opening a browser and gong to google or
something, just to make sure you still have a connection.

At least, that's how I've always dealt with it. :-)

Good Luck!
