Does anyone do one? Such mech info seems extremely difficult to find.
I'm looking for the kind of 'quality' mechanism found on high end CD
players (but obviously I also need DVD functionality).
With a target price of 30$, you only
get platic crap. You can always bring one
to your local mechanic and have it
remade from whatever material.
The target price is <$200
Now, order ten thousand at that price, and you may get beautiful results.
With onsies, you are not going to get quality for $200.
You must be talking different uses (like broadcast units) or many years ago,
at OP price i can get two each top of the line Plextor, Sony, or Pioneer
brand drives with good software packages.
