Well, the USA is 'entangled' to the same degree by funding and arming
Israel. And we have about the same control over what they do as Syria
and Iran do over Hezbollah. Which is to say not much. And our politics
are influenced to a greater degree by Israel than Hezbollah could ever
hope. A number of people (GOP politicians included) have referred to
Capitol Hill as 'Israeli occupied territory'.

Keep in mind that Hezbollah is a domestic political party in Lebanon,
much like the GOP is in the USA. Who wouldn't expect an American militia
to take up arms if our country were attacked?

I like how Paul draws a moral equivalence between Hezbollah, a
terrorist group, and Israel, the USA, the GOP, and US gun owners. Paul
has apparently read "The Marketing of Evil" by David Kupelian as he is
following the liberal playbook step-by-step.

Except that I'm a conservative, a gun owner, and well read enough to
realize that Israel got its start in the 1920s as a bunch of terrorists
who attacked arab villages (who, until that time, had gotten along with
the Semitic Jews just fine).

Israel's justification for this little enterprise has been to obtain the
release of two soldiers kidnapped by Hezbollah. By now, those soldiers
are probably dead as collateral damage inflicted by Israeli shelling or
air raids.

Apparently, since he conveniently does not mention it, Paul does not
consider terrorists firing rockets at you justification.

Rockets, bombs dropped by F-16s, precision artillery. Its all the same.
In fact, one could argue that Israel, with an arsenal of precision
guided weapons (courtesy of the USA) have less business hitting civilian
targets then Hezbollah, who are stuck with surplus Soviet era designed
barrage rockets.
