Even a sealed, obviously full Coke/Pepsi can is not beyond suspicion,
given a small amount of work.
For ease of spotting such things, it's simpler to just ban the lot, and
only supply pre-approved containers of known origin. This removes the
possibility of missing something ...
So what stops me from sealing whatever I want --solid, liquid, opaque or
transparent-- into a flat plastic bag and taping it to my body?
Some MMW radars can see such things, also cooled-IR cameras.
Dogs can still sniff out contraband, too;even when wrapped in plastic.
You could clean room wrap it in a bag, and drop that in another.
Heat seal that one, and drop it into another, and heat seal that one,
and the dogs could STILL smell the sealed product.
It seems that that is what I'll have to do with books and magazines I
want to read onboard...
Heck, if people are ready to die anyway, they could have quite
substantial bombs surgically implanted.
How would you tell them when to go off?
Airline schedules and takeoffs are variable.
The terrorist might still be in queue for inspection.
Any such device would REQUIRE metals. It would get detected.
