In Britain, every doctor will have his insurance against law suites, but it's like fire insurance - you need to have it, but almost no one ever uses it.

We are beginning, unfortunately, to copy the US 'compensation culture'. The difference is that our judges are much less sympathetic to people who are obviously 'in it for what they can get', and we don't have juries allowed to award damages, such as a million pounds for broken fingernails.
