<http://www.wftv.com/news/9842266/detail.html> is a report about a man
who died while trying to steal copper in Orlando yesterday. His
girlfriend and other friends were sobbing about how wrong it was that he
died, and how honest and hard he worked to clean up construction sites.
The man was a stupid thief who won't be stealing any more copper.
Around here the latest involuntarily recycled metal is the bronze
flower urns in cemeteries. A few years back it was pieces of aluminum
bridge rails.
A disabled neighbor of mine had the aluminum ramp for her scooter
stolen. The scrap yard didn't ask any questions and crushed it, even
though its not something that generally gets scrapped unless its badly
bent. Its been over a year, waiting for the courts to find the man
guilty. We had to put up a temporary used wood ramp that barely lasted
long enough for her to move out.
The thief claims that he did nothing wrong, because there wasn't
anybody in the house when he removed the ramp.
You don't have public flogging in Florida ?:-)
Not since the Republicans took over. :(
Flagellation is a popular sexual perversion, so the Republicans
privatised it.
