Eeyore does have a point. A lot of French movies are being remade in
Hollywood... Unfortunately, the originals are infinitely better
'Nikita' versus 'The Assasin' (with Bridget Fonda) for instance.
I agree. Good movie btw. The originals are invariably better. The remakes are
also invariably set in America and the plot torn to shreds.
I'm fed up of seeing everything set in the USA too. For a great movie set in
France this one is a must see IMHO.

You're fed up with all things American, so this doesn't surprise me.
More and more films are being shot in other countries, for reasons of
economy, and made to *look* like they were shot in the USA.
Nor do I want it to look like the USA. I fail to see the need for all drame to be
set there. There are other far more interesting places.

Since the prime market for US movies is a US audience, and the
film-makers are American, why not? If Brits or Thais or Sumatrans are
tired of watching American movies, they should make and watch more of
their own.
Did someone force you to sit through a lot of American movies?
Around here, foreign films are plentiful and popular. A restaurant we
like is Foreign Cinema; they project foreign films on the wall of the
courtyard dining area. The food and wine are yummy, a real change from
popcorn and Coke.
I just watch what I like best and ignore the rest, which turns out to
be about 98% of new releases. You have my permission to do that, too.
Do you have Netflix over there? They have just about killed off the
mom-and-pop video rental stores here. Good thing, we owed a number of
them small fortunes in late fees.
