prohibiting lead in soldered joints? I keep looking at media reports on

blame is in idiots who think they know more than state of the art science.
Am I wrong?
AFAIK most safety critical gear is exempted from RoHS.
Yes, but actually the ***-up is only with the interior cabling for
light/sound/whatnot. The aviation part works just fine. A friend of a
friend who works at Airbus told me that since no two planes are alike,
they have some fancy new software for planning all the interior
electrics, individually for each aircraft, and indeed that is what seems
to choke on the sheer size of the A380.
So, if an airline ordered a dozen planes, they would all be
different? That sound more like a quality control problem to me.
He actually means that the interiors for no 2 airlines are the same.
No. In this case things aren't fitting together correctly and
work-arounds made on the shop floor may not be the same for individual
airplanes.
I've subsequently heard that they're getting cable lengths wrong. Some mistake with the
CAD it seems.
I found out the other day that you can't mix inches and millimeters. ;-)
Yeah, you'll have a headache the next day.
