Hi,
Im looking at bluetooth to cominucate with a remote mcu from my pc,
so I got a a couple of bluetooth dongles cos they are so cheap on ebay,
and there are some bluetooth devices wich look like simple rs232
remoteto the pc
but the dongles are also realy small (and a lot cheaper)
so the obvious question is what do I need to use the 2nd dongle on my
thatmcu,
a usb type thingy of course but I gues it needs to plug into something
usblooks like a pc usb port,
many medium mcus have usb port wich act as slave devices but a few have
thatwich act as master wich I assume I need,
but what is involved in the software side thats available or needs to be
written?
of course I could use a more powerfull mcu wich can run windows ce if
theywould be able to drive a usb dongle,
I gues what I realy need is a dongle wich atatches to slave devices but
cooldont seem to make those I wonder why not ?
or maybe they do but I not seen it, maybe I could make one :o would be
a bluetooth firmwareyou could plug webcams in to it and such.Maybe you should ask Vinculum http://www.vinculum.com/ if they plan to add

version - I too have noticed how much cheaper USB BT units are compated toOEM modules. The nice
thing is that the USB interface to bluetooth (at HCI level) is defined inthe BT spec, so there
shouldn't be much variation between makes.
Yes that would be good if it supported bluetooth,
although it might end up simpler to get to use something like the bluesmirf
although I cant find any localy,
also I was thinking more of an MCU with USB capabilities wich just conected
directly to the bluetooth dongle.
Theres 3 chips inside the bluetooth dongle with up to 40pins,
i gues they are fully custom chips but if anyones interested they are :
ISCC IS1002N-307G
ISCC IS1601N-Q
if they are fully custom im not quite sure why they need 2 have so many
chips with so many pins theres only 4 conections to the outside world
tx,rx,5v,antenea.
Maybe they are dedicated bluetooth/usb chips, in wich case maybe it would
simpler to interface to the bluetooth chip directly,
but would probably need more investigating than I would consider doing.
