Done that, too. The only useful hint that I got out of a similar search
was that all the mails in the large inbox file might have been flagged
deleted. According to a Mozilla bug hint shown by Google the recovery
from that would be utterly painful, editing some kind of code snippet
"back to normal" in zillions of places in that large file. Oh man, I
hope there is an easier way.
Some of us, using UltraEdit, could edit "back to normal" in "zillions
of places" in a matter of seconds ;-)
Almost any text editor ought to be able to do that.
