That is probably the slow network connection to the processing center
that is trying to handle too many transactions. I've seen cash
registers take 30 seconds or more to process a credit card, when the
network was overloaded. In fact, I scrapped a two year old AMDAHL
mainframe about 15 years ago, when it could no longer keep up with the
load for the HONOR card ATMs. I've never seen so much silver plated
coax in one system, as was used in that AMDAHL system.


A friend of mine is shutting his station down to replace the tanks
and pumps. It will be closed for two weeks, and cost him over $200,000.
Talk about a bad month for business. :( I ran into him the other day,
while on Jury duty. He was forced to close his business for the
duration, because the judge wouldn't excuse him. He runs the station by
himself, so he lost at least one day of business, and pissed off a lot
of his customers.

I don't get called. I told them the next time they insist that I
show, I will file a class action suit seeking remuneration for EXACT
loss of income ;-)


The judge denied his lawyer's request, stating that his loss of
income was not a hardship. I told P.J. to find pictures of all the
judges and post them in the window of his station, stating they were
permanently banned from his property, and why. A lot of small business
people are tired of these morons doing whatever the hell they please,
because they can get away with it.

I was told to send a copy of the front page of my VA disability where
it states, "This individual will never be able to work again", and I
would be taken off permanently, for medical reasons.
