The GP1u series has long been obsolete so don't design it in. The
replacement is the same as the American opto device above. I wouldn't use
this- noise immunity. The metal can version is much better. I can't tell you
what the sharp part number is. The supplier in the UK puts their own number
in their catalogue- HMV602 ( H or V). It works very well. package size is
about 7mm sq. x 3mm.
I don't think you'll get an integrated IR detector the size of a 5mm
led.....

Looking for whatever is the smallest integrated IR receiver for r/c at
38kHz.
Problem is that even the Sharp GP1U series is too big.
I'm looking for something the size of a 5mm LED.
Does anything like this exist?
