I've done it. You have to cover the surfaces with oil, scratch through the
oxides leaving the oil coating and then solder the parts -- I used regular
solder. It works - crappily.
I just tried it, too. Worked. I got a strong joint between an
aluminium and copper wire. I didn't care much where exactly the
soldered spot on the Al was, though. I used engine oil (cheap
Castrol multi grade 15W-40).
