I love to cook with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food.
Mr Van Jolissaint aprroaches the subject from an economic standpoint;
oil prices, the housing marked, car prices, etc. The time period over
which his projections/predictions apply are miniscule on a geologic
scale. The more serious problem is the potential ecological distaster
that could occur if the "greenies." predictions are are correct. I'm
not an expert on global climate modelling, but it seems that it would
be prudent to take whatever measures we can to minimize the probability
of disaster until definitive results are in, since there is a
tremendous lag between the time corrections would be made, and the time
that benefits would be realized. (Ever try to stabilize a closed loop
control system whose open loop time tonstant is 100 years?) After all,
a soccer mom doesn't really need an SUV for the purpose of transporing
her brat to school. The fact that she can afford one is irrelevant.

Yep. What we should do is follow Phoenix' lead... put in light rail
which will use more energy per passenger mile than private automobiles
