Simulating an Automotive enviroment

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone could give me any idea's on how I might simulate
an automotive environment (mainly power supply) on my bench. Currently I
have set up an LM317T at 14V with a variable frequency generator controlling
a transistor/resistor on the feedback pin to switch the voltage down to 12V
to provide 2Vp-p noise at any frequency I like and that seems to be working
ok, it looks horrible on my scope anyway.
Im sure there must be other tests I can do, any suggestions or links would
be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
AJ
