Oh no - for me it has to be something with enough in it to actually occupy parts of my mind.
Examples
Mozart - just about anything
Greig - Peer Gynt really does well
Molly Hatchet works, as does any good southern rock
If I am researching, then something like 'Hell freezes over' is a nice background.
If I'm doing code then Def Leppard, AC/DC, Avril Lavigne, Joe Cocker, Small faces ... you get the idea ;)
