Ouch---one failure mode of LED traffic signals is that they don't generate
any heat, so they get snow-logged easily. In a snowstorm, the
snow deposits everywhere, even onto vertical surfaces such
as the signal lenses---incandescents tend to melt off the snow off,
but LEDs don't.
