Logitech optical USB. But sometimes it acts funny, depending on the
surface. It really doesn't like my Wallace and Gromit mouse pad.

Mine doesn't like smooth shiney surfaces.
Mine likes plain white paper best.
Mine seems to prefer the Deutsch Aerospace pad.
Mine works OK on my formica desk.
No need to use a mouse pad with an optical mouse.
Do not eat sandwiches on same desk, or at least clean after it.
My wife would have fits if I did that because it'll scratch up the desk.
Ok, mine is real wood (walnut, but a few decades old). And I never eat
in the office except for a couple of pears in the afternoon.
Formica is wonderfull stuff, I have had this desk since 1983, done
outragious things on it (including soldering etc), still flat and
scratch free. Top just looks new.
Mind you it was not new in 1983, came from a sale of the city of Amsterdam
office stuff IIRC.
Actually _coffee_ is the perfect cleaner for it, somehow the small particles
in the coffee scrape the dirt of.
It sees lots of coffee.
:-)
