And how long before the rising homicide rate in the UK approaches the
falling homicde rate in the U.S.? When I last looked, the US homicide
rate was four times the UK rate.


That would be two interesting numbers to know but I don't recall any recent source.

However, even if it still was four times (seems too high to me though), this shows how easy it is to create a reality mind twisting: Just pick one category and, whoopdidou, the factor goes from 4 or whatever to 232.

All I can say is that I feel as safe here as I did in Europe. Ok, there are certain areas in large cities I wouldn't go. But the same was true for places like Amsterdam or Frankfurt. At the end of the day it probably doesn't make a big difference whether someone died from a gunshot wound or from a switchblade knife.
