In article <3D6Wh.22606$GV5.18075@edtnps89>, nobody@xxxxxxxxxxx says...
They wanted him to go belly up and admit that what he did was wrong and

So, he could return to finish the job?
I have no problem with the fact that a CRIMINAL got shot, in the back or
otherwise. Sure he was running away, Mr. Martin finally got fed up and
got his gun. All of those ass whippings his mamma never gave him
finally added up to one gunshot wound.
You are forgetting to mention the fact that these guys had victimized
him over and over again, the police had been called over and over again,
and nothing had stopped the bad guys, UNTIL he shot them.
Parole applications and release
"(Tony) Martin was imprisoned in Highpoint prison, Suffolk. When he became
eligible for parole and early release, the Parole Board rejected his
application not stating a reason for the rejection. Martin challenged the
decision in the High Court, where the parole board's decision was upheld.
Probation officers on Martin's cases said there was an "unacceptable risk"
that Martin might again react with excessive force if other would-be
burglars intruded on his Norfolk farm."
Wouldn't that be a bloody good reason for morons to NOT break into this
house?
at least feign remorse. He wouldn't do it and kept him locked up.
One of the criminals even applied for disability income because he was
no longer able to ply his trade after the incident and he got it!
Anyone who thinks that ANY of this is even NEAR OK is nuts.
The good guy rots in jail, while the criminal gets his monthly check
from the taxpayers.
Yep, that system is MUCH better than the barbaric US.
