Disability benefit is available to anyone who is unable to work normally.

In this case, the wounding he received from Martin disabled him.

Unfortuantely his "normal" work was being a criminal.

Irrelevant. Criminal isn't an accepted occupation.

Do you not see a problem with this?
It certainly does not pass the DUH test.

Your suggestion instead is ?

Graham

A cot and a squat in a small cell sounds about right.
Otherwise, the generosity of family and friends better suffice.

BTW, I see that this supposably disabled criminal was recently arrested
for stealing a Land Rover. Sounds like a fraudulent claim of disability
to me, he obviously CAN ply his trade. Gee, a criminal doing criminal
things and yet Tony Martin is the one that went to jail.

Reminds me... must be about 30 years ago now... my two sons and I were
in Indian Guides.

One of the fathers was a private investigator, investigating insurance
civil suit fraud.

He caught a gal, supposedly with a broken arm, playing tennis... also
had photos of her screwing in her car outside a restaurant with a guy
NOT her husband.

Needless to say she lost her case ;-)
