The big difference being that a gun is *designed* to kill, a spoon
isn't.

Removing guns wont stop deaths, but surely its gotta help somewhat.


That's exactly what the anti-gun folks and the NRA are debating about.
Sure, when there are less guns then less guns can go off and kill
someone. OTOH there is a higher chance of survival if a crook who wants
to commit a violent home invasion robbery surprisingly looks down the
barrel of a Beretta, gets scared, wets his pants and takes a hike.

Then there's the little old lady from Mesa who beat a purse snatcher's
face almost to hamburger. It was all caught by a surveillance
camera... hilarious. She whipped him in the face with the purse he
was trying to snatch ;-)
