Removing guns wont stop deaths, but surely its gotta help somewhat.


That's exactly what the anti-gun folks and the NRA are debating about.
Sure, when there are less guns then less guns can go off and kill
someone. OTOH there is a higher chance of survival if a crook who wants
to commit a violent home invasion robbery surprisingly looks down the
barrel of a Beretta, gets scared, wets his pants and takes a hike.

Chances are the crook is already loaded. So if you survive someone
smashing down your door and shooting you, then yes, the crook will
probably run away.

I dare say its probably to late in the US, and even SA for that
matter. The guns are there, they will not go away. Implement gun
control and it will only be the honest people that turn in banned
waepons. One bonus is that it will give law enforcement the upper hand
to remove weapons. Furthermore, control over sales is possible. The
honest responsible gun owners should not be worried, they can still
own guns. Same as in UK and AU.
