OK, i took the plunge in "filtering" messages.
But it does not work; some i tagged as "mark as read" and others "delete".
I even closed the browser (Netscape 7.2) and re-started it.
My experience so far is that "filters" is, to be polite, fantasy.
Any ideas / suggestions as how to do it?
If it's any comfort, it doesn't work in Mozilla either. For email, yes. For newsgroups, no. I guess newsgroups aren't high on the pecking order these days when it comes to SW projects.
I use filters to read newsgroups with Thunderbird. The only limitation is that the filter does not react to headers already loaded. The filter process takes place as new headers are loaded. I have to mark all messages read to get rid of the already loaded headers (I display only unread messages, and filter to mark the filtered message as already read.)
A real stand-alone newsreader is probably a lot better but I haven't taken the plunge yet. If these bar fights here on usente continue I guess I'll have to.
The next day or so will be the key..
Thanks.
