Well, as I said, in pan, it's just a menu item. And it's got a whole bunch
of criteria that you can filter by. Your newsreader might be different,
I don't really know what features other newsreaders have.

Does what i do there affect others (hope not as my criteria is
undoubtedly different than anyone else's).

It only affects your own newsreader. The schtuff is still there for others
to see or ignore as they choose, but you don't have to plow through mounds
of garbage to get to the posts of interest.
