Thanks very much, John. I'm getting ready to upgrade all my
computers to new motherboards and I'll certainly keep your
experience in mind. I don't use USB, so I'll be looking for ones
that have PS2 interfaces for the keyboard. That might increase the
chance of finding one that will still run Win98.

I hope to find an optical mouse and finally get rid of having to
clean crud out of the mechanical ones. I think my main one has gone
about a million miles since 1990, and sometimes it doesn't want to
scroll to the right very well. I looked at it under the microscope
and things are starting to get worn real smooth. The three pads on
the bottom wore off long ago, and I found little strips of
polyethylene glued with ordinary household Goop works well. So you
see that I try to get my money's worth out of these things:)
