Ok, for anything that's received I am using a simple solution: I set up my server so that it maintains two sets of copies. One gets downloaded the instant the office PC comes online. This does not work for sent emails. Those are not stored on the server so I can't get them back down from there. Tried copying email folders and SMF files but to no avail. I could make that work by always using the exact same client but it'll still be clumsy. Another idea would be to BCC a separate email box on my server but that's kind of clumsy as well. Plus I might forget.

Any ideas? How do you guys do this?

I leave the mails on the server with my notebook.
In regular intervals I pull them down to a fixed
machine. Yes, I have them on both machines finally.
I also use thunderbird as mail client on both machines.


How do you leave the sent messages up there? Webmail? Or some trick with IMAP as Robert had suggested?

No, the server settings allows to tick : leave
messages on server. I have it on one mache but
not on the other.
