of professional (in the sense of, "they get paid to do the job") engineers are
still using it as their primary OS.

Heck, there are probably more engineers using *NIX as their primary OS than
Win98 these days...



XP became the de facto std, mainly because MS stopped supporting w2k
embedded tools, and forced XP embedded on everyone.

Even that is relatively new though.

Most RTOS folks likely use Solaris, which is going open source, btw.

I just DL'd OpenSolaris DVD the other day, and am going to check it out.

After all that time getting OpenSuse going!

Damn.. I hope Sun has good NVidia support.
