I did sample the group a couple times recently, and saw huge pollution

I've noticed the same thing, and just stop by here occasionally to
check the signal to noise ratio. Hopefully if enough people ignore the
retards, they'll eventually lose interest and go infest some other NG
and SED will be usable again.
