What I have noticed is that those claiming that we don't have a hockey

a graph of their version of global surface-level atmosphere temperature as
a function of time over the past thousand or two years. I suspect the
reason is that they have a hard time making and supporting a graph that
does not look at least somewhat like a hockey stick, despite the "little
ice age" and the "Medieval Warm Period". For example, check out the
first graph in the Wikipedia article on "Medieval Warm Period".

The only exciting thing about the hockey stick is the claim that it
shows very rapid temperature rise *right now*.

You can find some atmospheric temperature data for nearly the last 200
years here (the longest single record existing AIUI).

Single city, Albany New York.

By any chance did they do what Philadelphia did - during the "period of
record" move their official thermometer from downtown to a city fringe
area that is a good location for an airport?
