Yes, but the coin sequence is an illogical .01, .05, .1, .25, .5, 1.

It's not that much out of line from the standard test equipment
multipliers of
1x/2x/5x/10x (repeat) -- currency works that way between $1 and
$100... (at
least originally; $2 bills are of course uncommon these days).

Bullshit. Every time I visit my bank I ask for any the teller I
happen
to be at might have, and I get both old, and newly printed $2 bills ALL
THE TIME.

In fact, ALL the new dollar bill handling devices in soda machines,
Juke
boxes, and other vending machines (lottery ticket dispensers, etc.)
handle that denomination.

I find it astonishing that you have a bank note of such a small
denomination.

The smallest UK bank note is equivalent to $10(US).

We have dollar bills AND dollar coins.

Some years ago, we made an attempt to introduce dollar coins as the
first step toward doing away with the dollar bill. Trouble is, they made
a dollar coin (the Susan B. Anthony) that looked too much like a
quarter. It confused people and they rejected them.

Years later, they tried introducing dollar coins again. This time, they
used a distinctive alloy, making them easy to differentiate. People
started using them. Unfortunately, they had bank vaults full of unused
Susan B Anthony dollars, so they started slipping them into the stream.
People got confused (again), stopped dealing with dollar coins (again)
and went back to the paper currency.

They need to take all the S. B. Anthony dollar coins out of circulation.

The "idea" of issuing the $2 bills and the $1 coins may have been novel to
someone - to celebrate a person's life - but in all actuality, those
particular items were and still are - a pain in the ass - for some reasons
already mentioned. The coin sizes were the same size as a quarter - and even
with the different alloy - some "still" have the issue of confusion. They
should have made the coins like maybe mid size between the quarter and the
previous Kennedy Half Dollar Coin. An "odd" size to stand out. I get rid of
the $2 bills and the "odd" Dollar coins as soon as I can - so I don't have
to deal with them.

There is an old saying - (at least in this area) "Queer as a $3 bill"
........... Sooner or later in their quest to put somoene's face on a bill or
coin, that bill or coin "probably" will appear. I wonder "who's" picture
will grace it? Could be interesting! I wonder - if in in trying to put
Presidents and so on - on coin and currency - if they "may" institute -
other denominations - $4, $6, $7 - you get the idea. Or maybe a bill with
"many" pictures of Presidents or others - on it? There are many designs they
could use to make those denominations/coins. Hey, they did do the $2 bill -
who's to say it isn't possible?

As for the guy who says he goes to his bank and gets $2 bills all the time -
most banks that "I" know of - do keep a supply on hand for those that
collect them, and I've known groups to use them for "Cash awards" and so on.
So it isn't surprising you can get them. The "only" time I"ve heard of banks
running low or out of a supply of whatever - is when it is being collected
heavily at that moment, like the new "State" quarters. When a new quarter
comes out here - the banks run out the first week of getting them. I know
people who buy "rolls" of them. Quite frankly - it "is" American currency -
and if the bank "didn't" have it on hand - there's no where else to go - to
get them - aside from "odd change". I am including any Banks, Credit Unions
and others who carry large amounts of cash - in the "banking" system.

I can tell you from experience, a group I am affiliated with - gives away
Kennedy Halves as small consolation prizes. We've had to tell the Bank a
week in advance we wanted them - to be sure to get them. Our first
experience with it was - we didn't do that one year - we went there to get
the coins and they had none. We ended up scrambling to a few banks to get
what we needed.
Many people around here snatch them up like a free hot meal.

Speaking of coinage - this was just my 2 cents.
