You want the icons off the desktop completely? If they are links
(shortcuts to you Windows lusers), just delete them. The underlying
object isn't affected.
Note: Shortcuts can be configured to start applications with certain
environment variables set and command line options. You could lose that
configured behavior.
I still want the desktop access but get rid of the silly pictures. It just needs to say Spice or MS-Word etc.
