Well, the Fry's Food Store chain started with one small store about a mile from me here in El
Sobrante, CA.
They gradually expanded into a supermarket chain in the East Bay. The story is that Fry's

began when the Fry's store in Mountain View begain stocking electronics parts for the engineers who

coming in for potato chips and Jolt Cola in the evening. At about the same time, the Fry's
Supermarkets
were beginning to close down and were soon gone. The Fry's Electronics in Mountain View still had
several aisles of snack food.
Interestingly, the Fry's Electronics in Concord, CA opened about a block from where the Fry's Food
store
had closed. The street is called Fry Way.

There's also a Fry's Electronics here at Baseline and I10.

Turns out that the two lines _are_ related by family...

I should have also noted that I have a reason for thinking there is no
corporate relationship...

Fry's Food Stores are fine places to shop with friendly intelligent
clerks.

Fry's Electronics hires people who can't qualify to flip burgers ;-)
