The driver hands.sys is a figure of speech. It means that you
should blame on your own clumsy hands :)


My machine is a bit faster and the OS i use for internet is
Win98SE, but i totally *ripped* IE and OE out of the system.


Totally ripped off, including all of the associated dlls and the
registry records? This very well could be the reason.

I use NetScape 7.2 for my browser.


You might need to install the latest JVM from Sun. NN doesn't have
the JVM of its own.

*Cannot* do that.
About 7/8 of the way thru (if the "progress bar" has any real
meaning) it hangs for power off reset.
Remember, i am on dial-up and such a long-winded (7+megs)
download is
dicey and subject to AFU; the 13+meg "offline" method is worse.
Betcha a CD is not available.
BTW, i *do* have Java installed; on rare occasions i have seen
the
logo show with my AVG, sound and interconnect icons.
The rev is a bit dated: 1.4.1_02 to be specific.
