I don't know about the battery, but that will certainly warm up the
wrench. :-)
Well the theory is that the current flow warms up
the battery because of it's internal resistance, I^2 R,
the wrench itself is supposed to be a near 0 ohm
connector.

Yeah, Ken, I understood instantly what was supposed to happen and, in
theory, I'm sure it would. But that's a drastic measure. Probably
not good for the battery, for the wrench, or for the poor sod who's
standing there holding that wrench.
I don't think I'd want to be the first in my neighborhood to give this
a try. It sounds really dangerous to me.
