I'd respect conservatives if they did some very simple things:

a) Shout down the radio shitheads like O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Coulter,
etc. As far as most non-conservatives are concerned, THOSE people ARE
the conservative movement. So if true conservatives wish to be taken
seriously, they have to get rid of the loudmouths. Nothing less than
public repudiation by Republicans, followed by criminal investigations
and finally jail time, will suffice.

Ah! So you're against freedom of speech, particularly since the
leftist have no humor and can't get sponsors to keep their shows
afloat?

No, I did not say take them off the air. I said: the conservatives who
disagree with Limbaugh et al need to respond to them in a forceful
way, to say, "You don't speak for us." They can say whatever hateful
things they want but they can't be allowed to say it unchallenged by
those they purport to represent!

this is very interesting. One can make a strong case that the muslim community has this exact problem with the screaming nutjobs (wahaddists et al). The net result of no such denunciations, coupled with vocal opposition to anyone who dares say something about it, leads Jo non-muslim to conclude that muslims support that kind of crap. which they probably dont, but deafening silence isnt a good way to communicate that.

note the non-gender specific "Jo"
