Dear All,
Our Client is seeking a highly qualified Biopolar Platform Designer
for its office based in Shanghai. The Platform Designer is responsible
for the innovation activities in the Product Line delegated to him/her
by the Technical Manager, specifically R & D work aimed at introducing
new technology platforms. The introduction of new technology platforms
forms part of the business growth strategy of the PL, and the job
holder therefore has to have a good understanding of the business
dimensions, the future direction of our target markets, as well as
work closely with Marketing and Application colleagues in the
execution of his function.
Key Areas of Accountability:
· Participation in the identification and definition of future
customer and market requirements. Participate in appropriate visits
and other forms of contacts with sales force and customers.
· Evaluate the feasibility and profitability of study and platform
development projects aimed at these future market needs, based on a
good understanding of the wafer and assembly technologies available to
the Business Line. Carry out these study and platform development
projects, delivering as output new technology platforms on which the
rest of the Development Dept can design further specific products
meeting customer and market requirements. The projects should be
carried out within the timescales specified in the approved NPRs and
delivers platforms of the required performance and cost target.
· Through a high degree of appreciation of semiconductor physics and
state-of-the-art technology used in the industry, generate ideas for
new projects and improvements to product design. Participate in ideas
generation for other areas of interest to the business (e.g.
applications, marketing, quality, delivery, logistics and production
issues).
· Maintaining specialist knowledge by keeping up to date with
developments of power products, including an understanding of customer
requirements in relevant market sector through close contact with
research organisations, other development functions within the
business (Process and Technology development, Package development,
development work in other PLs and other parts of Client) as well as
the Applications and Marketing functions serving the business.
· Provide support to Marketing by: answering specific customer
enquiries and complaints; provide suitable customer samples of new
types as requested; assist Marketing in improving our professional
image through contributions to promotional literature and making
presentations to customers and sales engineers, as appropriate.
· Achieving a better understanding of competitors' strengths,
weaknesses and technologies, through a study of their published data
and other literature and analysis of device samples, in conjunction
with Applications, Measurements, Package and Technology development
groups, and thereby contribute to defining the future business
direction..
· Working together with the Process/Technology Development, Assembly
Development, and OutSourcing functions, as well as the Production
Depts., to ensure that new technologies use appropriate manufacturable
processes, and to obtain from these departments (acting as "customer")
the needed output in terms of new technology, processes and packages
to service the needs of the market.
