Full detail. I even read Dwight D. Eisenhower's "Crusades in Europe"
in 4th Grade ;-)

Back then, in West Virginia, American History was a two-year required
subject in High School. I even remember the teacher's name... Claude
Starkey ;-)

Plus a year of "Civics".. in Jr. High.

Also one year of West Virginia history...

anymore.)

Sounds almost decent. How about you check out what is being taught in
your local schools today.

The local schools here in Arizona only teach "feel good" history :-(

For an even better comparison check what is
taught today in the school you went to as a child.

Doesn't exist... it was already a 35 year-old building when I
attended. In West Virginia everything has been coalesced into central
schools... West Virginia is the only state losing population every
year.

But I'd guess they're teaching "feel good" history there as well.
