Heck,France had to pass a law to keep English out of their language,to keep

LMAO. Never heard of 'le weekend' for example ?
Of course we Brits use French in our language too. RSVP or 'raison d'etre' for
example.

Gee, we use, "Please Reply". Simple, and to the point.
RSVP uses 4 letters. Yours uses 10. Is that meant to be an improvement ?
It depends on wheter yo only have room for four letters, or want it
simple. It's your choice, and ours as well.
If you are going to complain about wasted letters, how about "Colour"
"Catalouge", and "Auminium", which are used a lot more than RSVP.
Ours are the original spellings in most cases and make equally good sense.
It's catalogue and aluminium btw. The 'IUM' of aluminium makes perfect sense for
consistency when taken alongside sodIUM, potassIUM, cadmIUM, beryllIUM, chromIUM etc > etc
Original? That's not what John Woodgate said, the last time the
subject came up.
Then he was wrong. Americans removed the u in colour and the ue in catalogue. You'll find it
explained in Bill Bryson's book Mother Tounge.

" In the UK and other countries using British spelling, only aluminium is used. In the United
States, the spelling aluminium is largely unknown, and the spelling aluminum
predominates.[26][27] The Canadian Oxford Dictionary prefers aluminum, whereas the Australian
Macquarie Dictionary prefers aluminium. ***** The spelling in virtually all other languages is
analogous to the -ium ending. *****
The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) adopted Aluminium as the
standard international name for the element in 1990, but three years later recognized aluminum
as an acceptable variant. Hence their periodic table includes both, but places aluminium
first.[28] IUPAC officially prefers the use of Aluminium in its internal publications "
