And this is the crux of the matter. The only way to estimate the
effects of CO2 is through scientific investigation, and that is what's
being done, with some alarming results. It's a mystery to me how the
likes of Eeyore, J.T., J.F., etc. have the gall to either ignore or to
impugn the consensus of  so many professional scientists. Where is
their data? Why aren't they publishing commentaries in professional
journals? Why don't they completely dismiss other large swaths of
science as well? Seems to me that if there's a worldwide conspiracy of
climatologists at work then it's probably just the tip of the iceberg!

Yet it's OK for you to 'have the gall to either ignore or to impugn
the consensus of so many professional scientists' who disagree?  Can you
say 'HYPCRITE'?

There aren't all that many professional scientists who disagree, and a
significant number of the self-proclaimed "professional scientists"
are trading on their status as published authors outside climatology
to feed anti-global warming propaganda into the popular press, for
which they get paid by Exxon Mobil and other oil and fuel producers.

There are people who are publishing papers in peer-reviewed
climatology journals who don't agree with the details of the IPCC
reports, but not all that many, and their reservations - such as they
are - tend to be blown up out of all proportion when they show up in
the anti-global warming websites favoured by Eeyore, J.T., J.F. etc.

J.A. Legris happens to be in a position to appreciate this , which
scarcely makes him a hypocrite (note the spelling). I can't say I'm
surprised that you aren't - scientific sophistication is spread pretty
thin in central Florida - though not as thin as it will be when global
warming has advanced far enough to produce a few mega-hurricanes to
scrub the place clean.
