As snipped from above, I got the past decade being .2 degree warmer than
the peak of the MWP by using 5-year-averaged HadCRUT-3 to extend Loehle's
overall reconstruction past its 1930 endpoint.
The Register, in its earlier article complaining about NASA data, liked
and linked to HadCRUT.

The only way i have ever heard of doing
that is by "cooking" the books. There is no proper scientific or
mathematical way of changing the values of existing time series data
by lengthening the data.
Yes, whatever happened to scientific integrity ? The AGW crowd threw the rule
book out the window.
