OK, the democrats have its own pet projects, but they do not seem to be
lining there own pockets as much as the republicans.


Remember it isn't taxes or merely spending that is the drag on the
economy. It is nonproductive spending like bridges to nowhere and
wars that suck up wealth. Spending on infrastructure is an investment
in the future as is education and investments in science.

Lately "ear marks" have gotten a bad name but most of the research
into cancer and a lot of the basic science that has lead to our modern
drugs were done with ear marked money. The bridges to nowhere get the
press the other things don't.

So what do you think about rebuilding the San Francisco - Oakland Bay
Bridge?
